The best zoo in Melbourne, always a new experience. The bird show is amazing, and sometimes you get to pat a dingo. Feeding the parrots is my little ones favorite activity. The new kangaroo enclosure is almost ready now as well, and it looks amazing.

It is also located not too far from Rochford Winery so if you get to the sanctuary early enough you can do a late lunch at the vineyard, my perfect day out when overseas visitors arrive.

Beautiful wildlife sanctuary with amazing trees and plants. Green and shady. Good bird show but in full sun so definitely need a hat or sunblock there. Great staff. Quite pricey when you're converting Rands but we'll worth the experience.

Lots of shady places to sit in the summer months. A good coffee shop with nice meals too.

It's the little things too that are so good, because its not as crazy busy as Melbourne zoo, you can stop and watch the caterpillars walk across the path

Healesville Sanctuary is a brilliant place to visit whether you're a tourist or local. The epitome of humane animal enclosures and fantastic educational presentations. Get up close to many of the parks residents, including Birds of Prey flights over your head, wombats, and much more. Always a bit with kids no matter how many times they've already been, Healesville Sanctuary is one of Melbourne's trio also including Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. A family pass - whether a one off or annual - is incredible value, and grants reciprocal entry to many Zoos and parks in other states. Highly recommended.

A great place to see native Australian wildlife. The Birds of Prey session should definitely be on your animals to see list. They bring out a huge eagle and an owl and it's very informative.
